  • 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri 2:30 PM-11:00 PM or 3:30 PM-12:00 AM

Join Our Team as an Electrical Maintenance Technician-Intermediate!

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician-Intermediate, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

The Electrical Maintenance Technician-Intermediate is responsible for performing simple to moderate repairs and maintenance tasks within the facility or on production equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various systems and equipment, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with safety standards. The Technician - Intermediate works under moderate supervision and may specialize in specific areas following training.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Reading layouts, diagrams, schematics, project commissioning documents, and material lists with the ability to complete related assigned task.
  • Assisting other Facilities personnel with engineering improvement with electrical upgrades or alterations.
  • Exercising some judgment with making decisions on assigned projects or tasks.
  • Installation, maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment and systems common to facilities maintenance including lighting systems, distribution equipment, fans, switches, motors, controls, etc. In accordance with the National and Chicago Electrical Code.
  • Operates a variety of specialized equipment related to assigned activities including various hand and power tools and material handling equipment.
  • Provide additional labor support in the event of an emergency.
  • Installation of communication and network wiring for computer and phone systems as assigned (Cat5 Cat6 and Ethernet systems).



What you'll Need To Succeed:



  • 5 years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • An understanding of methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems, distribution and emergency systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of The National Electric Code, The Chicago Electrical Code and building codes related to the electrical trade.
  • Knowledge of computer and telecommunication systems.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment associated with the electrical maintenance field. (DMM, Amp clamp, Megger, etc.).
  • Understanding of Ohms Law.
  • Understanding of shop math applicable to the building trades.
  • Understanding of safety precautions and procedures related to electricity.
  • Electrical blueprints.
  • Proficient with oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work earlier or later than your prescribed shift depending on company need.
  • Available to work on other shifts, weekends, and holidays shutdowns to support production and maintenance projects or to participate in training.
