This opportunity is in the Claims Department.

Our Claims department oversees both high-exposure workers' compensation and liability claims. As an unbundled carrier, we work actively with third-party administrators (TPAs) and self-administered accounts to assist in guiding claims to a successful resolution. As an excess and large deductible carrier, the high exposure claims we handle keep our group challenged, but the uniqueness provides plenty of growth opportunities.

Role Description:

As a Claims Manager, you will handle claims from initial assignment through closure, ensuring quality service and financial responsibility. You'll be responsible for evaluating coverage, negotiating settlements, managing litigation, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient claims resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Assess coverage and manage claim reserves. Handle claims from start to completion, including settlement negotiation within assigned authority limits.
  • Medical Oversight: Oversee medical management of claims, using partnerships with Medical Management, Cost Containment, and vendors to control medical exposure.
  • Litigation Coordination: Work closely with selected counsel, monitor performance, and ensure litigation aligns with departmental guidelines.
  • TPA Collaboration: Provide direction to Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and communicate regularly to obtain necessary claim details.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed claim documentation and support reinsurance communication. Share insights on account issues, major losses, and specific TPA matters with Underwriting.
  • Auditing: Conduct and document TPA or LPT audits as needed.
