Cytotechnologist ASCP

Job Description:

Cyto Tech, $20,000 sign on bonus for eligible new hire.

Day Shift, Full Time

Must have extensive knowledge in preparing, staining, and evaluating gynecological and non-gynecological material including fine needle aspirations. Demonstrates competency in assessing all material with a high level of accuracy. Shows good judgment with attention to details as well as respect patient confidentiality. Works professionally and courteously with physicians, patients, guests, and other employees.

Job Duties

• Assists with processing of specimens collected in CT scan as required.
• Performs routine microscopic evaluation of cytologic smears and cell blocks
• Completely and correctly screens and interprets cytologic specimens
• Performs clerical duties including entering data into computers, answering phones and distributing reports
• Performs operation and maintenance of the microscope, centrifuge, cytocentrifuge and all chemical reagents

Requirements

• No experience required
• Bachelor's degree in Cytology required
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) is required
