About the Job

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology and the Institute on Infectious Diseases (UMIID) at the University of Minnesota Medical School invites applications for two tenure-track/tenured faculty positions to be filled at the Assistant/Associate level. We seek scientists working in the area of virology who will establish a competitive research program with focuses to include; emerging viruses, virus-host interactions, viral immunity and innate immune regulation, virus evolution, and systems virology. UMN offers an intellectually vibrant, collegial, and inclusive research community spanning multiple colleges, centers, institutes, and core facilities. Candidates will help to further the scholastic mission of the department and the Institute on Infectious Diseases by developing robust innovative research programs and by aiding in teaching and training of undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
PhD, MD, or equivalent in a relevant field of study, plus applicable postdoctoral or faculty experience.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $110,000 - $220,000; depending on rank awarded/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment

Position Type: Faculty and P&A Staff
