YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Our Guymon processing facility has an exciting FSQA Supervisor opportunity on both our A and B shifts. In this highly impactful role, you will be a vital member of the food safety and quality assurance department, which is responsible for the shift supervision of all food safety and quality assurance policies/programs, USDA compliance, product quality initiatives, and laboratory protocols for a pork processing facility harvesting over 21,500 animals per day. The position supervises using strategic initiatives and execution excellence to provide compliance with all quality specifications, USDA/FDA regulations, and International Regulatory laws having jurisdiction over Seaboard Foods facilities. The supervisor assists with implementing program strategies to achieve exemplary food safety, quality standards, lab protocols, and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for having expertise and knowledge regarding product specifications impacting food safety and quality.
  • Ability to perform FSQA, harvest program, and laboratory functions to oversee day-to-day activities.
  • Interacts daily with plant management, employees, and government officials.
  • Maintains an excellent understanding of new and current federal, state, and local regulations affecting food safety requirements associated with manufacturing, processing and packing, laboratory protocols, distribution, etc. (HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs).
  • Supports the FSQA team and operations on projects and activities related to food safety and product quality.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of department programs and procedures.
  • Complete understanding of the organization's software systems (Safety Chain, M3, Carlisle, etc.) utilized to monitor/audit the production environment.
  • Adheres to all Company, state, and federal workplace safety and food safety regulations.
  • The position is multi-faceted as it will rotate responsibilities within the laboratory protocols, harvest inspection programs, and the Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: The details listed below are the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities to perform this role. Reasonable accommodation(s) may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.



  • Bachelor's degree in meat science, food science, microbiology, engineering, or related discipline with two (2) years of progressively responsible positions or five (5) years of progressively responsible positions in the meat/pork industry.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of current and application of USDA and FSIS directives and regulatory requirements.
  • Must have adequate experience to demonstrate thorough knowledge, skills, and abilities of both commercial and technical aspects of FSQA for the pork business.


SCHEDULE



  • Either A or B shifts and as required by the business.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility and primarily will be on the production floor.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily on the production floor and will have limited office time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment requires you to always wear hearing protection on the production floor.
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as required/requested.
