This position is based in the following office location:

The opportunity

Reporting to the Mechanical Manager and Director of Facilities and Operations, the Journeyman Plumber performs experienced work in the installation and maintenance of water piping, traps, valves, drains, sprinklers, radiators and sewerage systems to maintain university facilities in proper working condition. The position is required to participate in snow removal operations and in other maintenance capacities. You will have an on-call rotation with this role.

What you'll do:

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing and gas systems. Inspect and certify work is in compliance

  with state and local codes.

• Work with SNHU staff on work orders and projects while maintaining health and safety standards as

  well as code compliance.

• Help train new personnel and assist other team members with completion of work orders

  when necessary.

• Use basic knowledge in using Building Management Systems to trouble shoot and

  monitor equipment

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience as a Plumber

• High School Diploma or GED

• NH Journeyman Plumbers license required

• NH Gas service License required

• Valid NH driver's license

Working Conditions:

• Outdoors or in mechanical/equipment rooms and in possible extreme weather conditions, loud noise levels.

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.

• Possible wet or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage) and vibration.

• Possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

Physical Requirements:

• The employee is regularly required to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

• You are frequently required to walk, use hands and fingers to reach, feel, grasp and manipulate; and be able to reach with hands and arms.

• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 100 pounds.
