About the role:

As a Principal I&C Systems Engineer you will lead the integration of advanced instrumentation and control systems across large-scale plant technology projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across engineering teams and subsystems. As a senior technical contributor, you'll drive system architecture alignment, manage interface control, and oversee validation activities throughout the system lifecycle. You will report to the Supervisor - Systems Engineering and Requirements Management / Project Manager and be located at Warrendale, PA office on a hybrid basis.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain system integration plans for I&C systems.



  • Coordinate interface control between subsystems and overall system architecture.



  • Lead design integration reviews to ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements.



  • Oversee acceptance testing and pre-operational validation activities.



  • Resolve complex integration issues across all phases of the system lifecycle.



  • Implement a Requirements Management Plan to ensure traceability from stakeholder needs to design and verification evidence.



  • Maintain a requirements traceability matrix using tools such as IBM DOORS or equivalent.



  • Validate that all system requirements meet functional, safety, and cybersecurity criteria.



  • Establish and enforce a Configuration Management Plan.



  • Maintain consistency across design documentation, diagrams, and software baselines.



  • Conduct configuration audits and manage change requests under formal change control processes.



  • Support documentation for regulatory reviews, certifications, and audits.





Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.



  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and 5 years of experience in systems engineering.

    Desired Qualifications -



  • Strong knowledge of engineering standards and quality frameworks.



  • Proficiency in Requirements Management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and Configuration Management systems.



  • Experience with digital control systems and automation platforms.





We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
