This position requires problem solving skills with the ability to understand a customer's needs, provide conceptual and strategic solutions, and explain the value of those solutions. Developing solutions is only one part of the job. This position is commercially focused and requires professional interaction with all disciplines. The successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly and confidently with both internal and external customers to help close sales. Success in this position demands a positive attitude toward change and a willingness to embrace best practices. Key Job Responsibilities
1. Respond to OE quote requests with a proposal that includes drawings, specifications and pricing. 2. Understand existing equipment designs and determine when Engineered-to-Order solutions are required. 3. Generate supporting documents that may include CAD drawings, equipment BOMs, performance calculations, and cost analyses to validate any proposed solution. 4. Field questions from Sales, customers, and the Production Engineering team to execute OE orders based on the above proposals. 5. Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of oneself and the organization. 6. Participate in and support programs for effective communication of engineering issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of products and services, as well as engineering best practices. 7. Participate in and support improvements to streamline engineering processes used to design, develop, maintain and support components, products, and/or services. 8. Participate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as needed. Qualifications/Requirements
1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline, required. 2. 4 years' experience in engineering design, machine application, mining industry, desired. A PE license is not required, but the desire and eligibility to pursue one is an advantage. 3. Experienced in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools, desired. 4. Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, desired. 5. Participation in effective Change Management implementation, desired. 6. Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s), highly desired. 7. Certifications or demonstrated project management, desired. 8. Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial. Additional Information
