Responsibilities

In the PACU, they specialize in recovering patients from anesthesia after surgeries, as well as procedures in the Endoscopy and Cath Lab. The patient populations ranges from infants to the elderly. Nurses will receive specialized training in airway management and acute pain management. They are responsible for stabilizing patients before they transition to the next phase of care, whether returning to the Ambulatory Unit or being admitted for future treatment.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain ACLS
