Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a nationally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

At TRC we continuously strive to find better ways to give back to our communities. TRC Advanced Energy created a Workforce Development program to strengthen our connection to the local community and create enhanced employment opportunities for individuals desiring to enter the clean energy workforce.

TRC is seeking an energetic Project Assistant Apprentice for a 14-week, paid Workforce Development program. As a Project Assistant Apprentice, you will learn the skills necessary to serve in an administrative role to support project managers and teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The apprentice will learn how to conduct administrative duties and coordinate tasks and efforts within the team and with outside clients. The apprentice will learn software/platform application review, verification, and processing.

Disclaimer: Participation in the Workforce Development program is not a guarantee of continued employment with TRC at the end of the 90-day training period.


Responsibilities

On-the-Job Training includes but is not limited to:

  • Processing project transactions in project databases
  • Conducting Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews of all project documentation, performing data verification via internal and external databases
  • Reviewing submitted project deliverables, milestones, invoices, and overall contract monitoring and management
  • Data entry and CRM work
  • Managing and tracking campaigns, opportunities, activities, and contacts by utilizing the program's CRM database
  • Application processing
  • General administrative support of project managers and contract managers
  • Providing communications and project tracking, reporting, and invoicing support, and other administrative duties
  • Demonstrating problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative style that works well in teams

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills: proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Desire to learn energy efficiency concepts
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Interest in energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Ability to learn new software/platforms, application review, verification and processing.
  • Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Verifiable work history
  • Reliable home internet service
  • Ability to set up home office using company-provided equipment
  • Ability to attend meetings in person a handful of times each year (important meetings, holiday gatherings etc.)
  • Experience and knowledge of energy efficiency equipment is a plus
