The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Senior Program Manager will support the academic and administrative programs of the Columbia Initiative in Cell Engineering and Therapy (CICET). The Columbia Initiative in Cell Engineering and Therapy will catalyze and bring together multi-disciplinary stakeholders to accelerate the discovery and delivery of transformative therapeutics. This role will support the leadership and CICET scientists and oversee the coordination among the academic and administrative components of the initiative.

Responsibilities



  • Administrative oversight and support of the Columbia Initiative in Cell Engineering and Therapy (CICET) program areas including but not limited to training and education, faculty recruitment, events and seminars, communications, finance and grants management.
  • Provide a high-level review of all CICET funding on a regular basis to the CICET executive leadership. This may include assisting in the planning and preparation of annual budgets, monitoring and reporting. Oversee the Clinical Trial Development Fund, philanthropic gifts, and intramural funding opportunities
  • Oversee the financial management of CICET research portfolios; seek funding opportunities, advise on potential funding issues; and support grant submissions as needed; track and provide administrative support for material transfer agreements, IRB, and IACUC submissions
  • Partner with Department of Medicine Administration and HR to provide a central oversight of all business processes for faculty and personnel including managing salaries; purchasing; budget administration; sponsored projects (pre-post) administration, effort reporting, compliance, and other day-to-day business operations.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to promote CICET. Work with CUIMC Office of Communications to develop and implement a communications plan, maintain the website and listserve. Facilitate internal communications for CICET faculty, staff and trainees.
  • Coordinate faculty recruitment activities.
  • Work with the Associate Director, Programs Management, to provide financial and administrative oversight of CICET labs, GMP facility, clinical trials development and trials.
  • Additional duties can also include the coordination business services at CU/CUIMC for CICET: computing services; facilities management; procurement. Serve as an administrative point of contact for CICET.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • At least 4 years of related experience
  • Experience with financial management and grants administration
  • Working knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks while maintaining responsibility for timely execution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal)


Preferred Qualifications



  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Strongly prefer at least 7 years of experience in academic research administration
  • Experience working in an academic medical center
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to set priorities and exercise sound judgment and initiative

  • Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
