Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Manager and/or Lead Technologist, performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce quality radiographic images as requested for subsequent interpretation by the radiologist. All duties are performed according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities 1. Performs quality and efficient diagnostic radiographic examinations, utilizing appropriate protocols and age specific standards. 1.1 Verifies physician-s order on requisitions 100% of the time. 2. Under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, operates radiographic equipment to ensure proper technical results. 2.1 Conducts daily inspection of radiographic equipment to ensure proper performance and image quality. 3. Prepares examination room to ensure a clean and safe environment with adequate supplies to assure efficient and accurate performance of exams. 3.1 Replaces any used supplies immediately after patient is dismissed 4. Performs quality and compassionate patient care, utilizing appropriate age specific standards, to ensure patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction. 4.1 Thoroughly explains the procedure to ensure patient physical and emotional comfort 5. Performs various record keeping, customer service functions, and communicates feedback to ensure the goals of the department are met and operations run efficiently. 5.1 Accurately edits and completes all examinations to ensure proper medical record documentation and billing. 6. Participates in various teaching and/or learning opportunities in order to further his/her own personal knowledge and to assist in expanding the knowledge of others. 6.1 Receptive to teaching new technologists, students, residents 7. Chaperone patients when necessary Qualifications EDUCATION Enrolled in A.M.A. approved Radiologic Technology program; ARRT registry eligible. EXPERIENCE Demonstrated technical skills to meet entry level standards of routine radiography. RT(R) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Connecticut State Radiographer License is required within 120 days of hire date. LICENSURE Must Achieve ARRT and CT License after 120 days after hire date SPECIAL SKILLS Demonstrates a basic understanding and technical skill with routine radiography, CR / Digital imaging techniques, knowledge of computer / Pacs applications, and good organizational and communication /customer service skills. PHYSICAL DEMAND Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with patient transfers. YNHHS Requisition ID 117855
