Yale New Haven Health- Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) is seeking a Full-time Anesthesiologist to expand our collegial, family oriented anesthesia team. Our case mix includes ambulatory, plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, GYN, urology, neurosurgery, vascular, endoscopy, and healthy pediatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Implement accurate safe patient centric anesthetic care
  • Completes thorough anesthesia apparatus safety check and all monitoring equipment to be used during the delivery of a given anesthetic
  • Complete pre-anesthetic assessment
  • Obtain and/or verifies patient consent
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
  • Induction, maintenance, and emergence form anesthesia
  • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
  • Performance of clinical intervention as needed
  • Accurate documentation in the anesthesia record
  • Protects patient health information in all forms
  • Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care
  • Continuously engage in professional development and improve professional competency

Qualifications

Education: BC Anesthesiology. Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted state medical license as required by the assigned hospital and practice. BLS, ACLS, PALS certification, and valid DEA.

Anesthesiologists must possess physical stamina to lift or turn disabled patients and perform other physical tasks. They need strong problem-solving skills to quickly evaluate patients' symptoms and administer appropriate treatments, especially in life-threatening situations. Key skills include understanding spoken and written information, speaking clearly for effective communication, listening actively and asking questions, and writing clearly so others can understand. Additionally, they should be able to read and comprehend work-related materials.
