Responsibilities
The Sponsor Data Office requires a Systems Architect familiar with systems design at an architecture level to work across component technical teams to support the integration of diverse capabilities into a cohesive data ecosystem. The Systems Architect will directly support the Technical Director and the office's technical leadership, as well as orchestrate and document the activities of office- and agency-level technical data councils and governance bodies. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Engage across technical teams and broader stakeholder groups to capture requirements and synthesize needs into policy and strategy actions.
- Distill, capture, and convey technical concepts and decisions into concise, written documents and oral presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Generate technical drawings, architectures, and plans based on Sponsor strategic initiatives and decisions.
- Facilitate technical Review Boards and other technical governance sessions, setting schedules and agendas, capturing minutes, and documenting and following up on action items.
- Lead and/or orchestrate formal and informal collaborative technical working groups comprising cross-component technical experts as needed to improve integration, reduce redundancy, and clarify needs.
- Act as trusted advisor on technical and business operations for the Sponsor; researching and briefing legacy, current, and leading technological concepts for and to technical and business leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience architecting solutions to complex applications problems.
- Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems. and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
- Demonstrated knowledge in enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture principles, data standards, and metadata management best.
- Experience with successful full life-cycle software development projects.
- Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and supporting data.
- For example, this may include experience with Web Services, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), application integration technologies and approaches, Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing solutions, data management technologies (Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), Data Profiling, Data Mining, Metadata Repositories).
- Minimum 15 years' experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Doctorate (or equivalent experience) in a field related to the position.
- 20 years' experience.
- 5 years' experience in the Intelligence Community.
