THE ROLE: Splunk Solutions Architect

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Splunk Solutions Architect to join our team in a pre-sales role. As a Cisco Splunk technical expert, you will be responsible for engaging with clients, understanding their business challenges, and architecting Splunk solutions that meet their needs. Your role will involve working closely with sales teams, providing technical expertise, conducting demonstrations, and ensuring successful proof-of-concepts. This position requires a deep understanding of Splunk's platform, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate technical features into business outcomes.

Travel Requirements:

In this position you will be expected to travel up to 25%. It will be based in any location in the United States.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with account teams to understand client requirements and propose appropriate Splunk solutions.
  • Design and architect Splunk deployments tailored to client-specific needs.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients throughout the sales cycle.
  • Stay updated on Splunk product releases, features, and industry trends to provide cutting-edge solutions.
  • Work closely with direct account teams to understand sales strategies and plan for support of that strategy including briefings, demos, proposals, Proof of Values (POVs), integrations, and issue resolution for our Splunk practice and product portfolio.
  • Explain the capabilities of the Splunk implementation practice to clients, ensuring they understand the full scope of services and support available.
  • Work closely with the implementation team to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to deployment.
  • Communicate with customers to understand security architecture, infrastructure, and cyber security objectives in order to map a customer's security priorities to Splunk product capabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate Splunk's products to customers on site and remotely via webinar sessions.
  • Self-motivated with a consistent track record in technical software sales and knowledge of security technology.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and dynamic presentation skills and communicate clearly in emails and RFPs when submitting reports.

  • Demonstrated comfort leading presentations, solution demonstrations. and whiteboard sessions.

  • Collaborative style and the ability to work with diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience with Splunk architecture, design, and implementation including:




      • Enterprise Architecture: Strong understanding of enterprise-level architecture and scaling Splunk deployments.
      • Dashboarding and Reporting: Expert in creating and customizing dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
      • Splunk Data Onboarding: Advanced skills in data ingestion, normalization, and correlation.
      • Splunk SPL (Search Processing Language): Proficiency in writing complex SPL queries and optimizing searches.
      • Security Best Practices: Thorough knowledge of security frameworks and how to implement them within Splunk.




  • Expert-level knowledge and experience with design, implementation, and support of one or more of the following:



    • Splunk Enterprise Security: In-depth knowledge of Splunk ES and its implementation.
    • Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI): Expertise in designing and deploying ITSI solutions.
    • Splunk SOAR: Experience in designing and implementing security orchestration and automation solutions.
    • Splunk Observability Cloud: Understanding of Splunk's observability tools and their integration.
    • Splunk App Development: Experience in developing custom Splunk apps and add-ons.





    Additional Desired Skills:



    • Splunk certifications and accreditations, such as Splunk Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin, Splunk Accredited Sales Engineer I & II are highly desirable.
    • Experience in pre-sales or a client-facing technical role.
    • Experience driving complex IT projects.
    • Experience and/or ability to prepare RFP/RFI response, proposals, and solutions.
    • Experience with reviewing and/or writing Statements of Work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BoM) for Splunk deployments.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


    Education and Experience:



    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or military experience
    • 5+ years of experience working with Splunk, including 3+ years in a solutions architect or pre-sales role.
    • Overall 7+ years of relevant work experience
