The Alpha Stem Cell Clinic (ASCC) provides a centralized infrastructure from which to work with UCI faculty and staff to enhance stem cell clinical research and activities at UCI. The UCLA-UCI Alpha Stem Cell Clinic:

- Is part of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) Alpha Stem Cell Clinic network
- Promotes and facilitates scientific collaborations and interactions
- Provides centralized clinical research infrastructure support
- Accelerates the implementation of clinical research trials


Your Role on the Team

Under the general supervision of the Research Administrator, the Research Finance Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the financial management of the Stem Cell Research Center - Alpha Stem Cell Clinic's clinical trials. The incumbent will assist the Research Administrator in the management of clinical trial accounts, conducting independent analysis of data and maintaining data integrity across all institutional systems. Duties include general ledger entry and audit, data maintenance, data analysis as well as post-award management including account reconciliation, invoicing sponsors, and recharge billing. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with sponsor and University policy/agreements.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
  • Acquiring ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Basic proficiency using spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Basic interpersonal skills; broad service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Under management guidance, uses organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • 3-5 years
