Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Social Impact & Sustainability Program Support Temp for the Evanston campus.

Temporary Job Description:

The Social Impact & Sustainability Program Support Temp will work on a portfolio of social impact and sustainability programs, events, and funding streams. These programs include year-round student social impact and sustainability funding, summer internship stipends, social impact and sustainability student and alumni events and awards. The work will include administration of the execution, logistics, marketing, and communications for these programs.

Occasional evening/weekend hours will be required. Per Northwestern University policy, this position requires a criminal background check prior to employment. Specific Responsibilities:

Administration:

  • Serves as the first point of contact for social impact and sustainability and oversees & ensures that websites, email communications, and calendars are updated and managed in a timely fashion.

Funding and Finances:

  • Supports the process with regard to applications for funding, financial flows, disbursements, adherence to budget, associated analysis & reports for funding and award programs.
  • Communications and Web Content Development: Communicates on behalf of programs, edits and develops content for programs, website, and more. Populates and creates website with new content, videos, and pages.

Data Management:

  • Inputs and updates contact and communication systems for the range of Social Impact & Sustainability programs including the management and customization of data systems to meet the needs of the program.
  • Event Management: Supports and executes events and programs including communication, venues, presenters, travel arrangements, materials, refreshments and technology for a range of Social Impact & Sustainability programming.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances):

  • Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and ability to master Airtable, Zoho, and other systems
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail, relationship management, and flexibility
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including faculty, students, and executive leadership
  • Strong initiative, ability to work with limited supervision, strong cross-functional team player

Preferred Qualifications (Skills, knowledge, and abilities):

  • Experience working in an academic or larger organizational environment
  • Experience in event/conference management
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to take ownership of a process and develop new initiatives and processes.
