Job Summary

The Research Scientist is responsible for coordinating and administering key activities within the research program, including managing participant flow, ensuring confidentiality, and overseeing data collection and intervention processes. The role involves supervising project staff, including assistants and research students, and overseeing family interventions and assessments. Serves as Co-Principal Investigator (PI) for the assigned project. Prepares progress notes, assisting with manuscripts and reports for funding agencies, recruitment, and enrollment, as well as managing compliance with NIH reporting. Supports budget preparation, policy implementation, and program development, while collaborating with faculty, staff, and the community.

  • Coordinates activities administered by the research program and participates in the development and implementation of procedures for the program.
  • Ensures and maintains the highest standard of confidentiality of participant records and database.
  • Coordinates the participant flow, consults with referral sources, coordinates and oversees assistants' project activities and undergraduate research assistants.
  • Implements ongoing research activities involved in collection of data for each wave of data collection.
  • Oversees and monitors all intervention conditions.
  • Manages the project and administers the intervention of caseload of families per week. Reviews the cases and prepares weekly progress notes for each family.
  • Administers approximately 4 assessments per week. These assessments take approximately 2 hours to complete.
  • Oversees training of current and incoming doctoral students in assessment and intervention procedures.
  • Prepares manuscripts for publication and prepares progress reports for funding agencies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Oversees recruitment and enrollment activities, including compliance with NIH recruitment/enrollment reports.
  • Assists with budget preparation and management.
  • Assists in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures as the they apply to assigned areas of responsibilities.
  • Provides recommendation and assists in the development of programs
  • Interacts with faculty, staff, and community.
Minimum Qualifications

Doctoral degree and one (1) year of relevant experience.

Must have a PhD or proof of degree by hire date.
