This role can be remote with monthly travel to Hershey.

It's an exciting time at The Hershey Company! The company is progressing it's growth aspirations and vision to be a Leading Snacking Powerhouse (LSP). To continue to grow and enable the achievement of our LSP vision, Hershey is elevating its enterprise-wide technology platforms and driving digital transformation. We have an opportunity for a Senior Director IT Operations to join our technology team. The Senior Director will formulate and implement the IT strategy across Employee Services, Infrastructure and Application Platforms while defining areas to digitize and simplify to develop and execute a multi-year roadmap to evolve user experience. Responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation, and administration of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud services like Microsoft Azure, transitioning to modern infrastructure platforms (e.g. Cloud) and eliminating tech debt, striving for an evergreen approach to our critical tech stacks and leading tech innovation across Digital Employee Services and Infrastructure and Application technologies leveraging modern technologies (cloud, AI) to create new capabilities for Hershey.

Responsibilities:



  • Operations Management: Design, implement, and govern operational processes for incident and change management. Implement and support the batch process management platform. Data center and remote location infrastructure management. Minimize operational disruption by eliminating or reducing unplanned downtime and P1 incidents. Full lifecycle management of software and hardware using ServiceNow platform. Ensure proper maintenance and support of critical technical platforms.
  • Asset Management; Security and Compliance: Ensure that all IT systems and devices comply with Hershey information security company policies and provide remediation for new vulnerabilities. Complete all infrastructure audit compliance activities aligned with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring high levels of service delivery. Govern the vendors to ensure value and performance are delivered in line with company expectations
  • Own and drive digitization and simplification of employee services powered by technology


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a large and diverse team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Set and enforce clear objectives and priorities aligned with business goals. Manage/Collaborate effectively with our external partners to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Manage a large and complex budget, optimizing it to deliver value and user experience. Negotiate and transform the partner / vendor landscape.
  • Infrastructure Management: Demonstrate capability to evolve and transform digital infrastructure (e.g. Cloud adoption; SaaS; IaaS; App rationalization, etc.)
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and vulnerabilities. Resolve and remove technical debt.
  • Digital Employee Services: Lead initiatives to transform our employee experience by embracing new and emerging tech. Lead tech innovation by leveraging modern technologies to create new capabilities for Hershey.
  • Certifications: Cloud, Operations, and Infrastructure certifications are desirable (e.g. ITIL; Azure; etc.)


Education:

Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferred. Mix of Business and STEM undergraduate degrees preferred.

Experience:



  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in leading and implementing technology and leading the design of business processes.
  • Experienced leader in complex managerial roles with significant cross-functional work. Minimum of 10 years leading infrastructure (Network, Cloud, etc.) teams.
