What You'll Do: Customer Service. Actively answer customer calls for order fulfillment. Must be customer service focused. Oversee and Adjust Scheduling. Oversee driver/truck scheduling to effectively balance our capabilities with demand. Schedule and company and independent drivers to deliver customer orders at each facility on a daily basis. Adjust the schedule as necessary. Review Order Entry. Review daily order entry for completeness and accuracy for each facility. Ensure the plant has the capability to meet customer needs in a timely manner. Make adjustments as necessary. Procure Carriers. Procure sufficient carriers to fulfill all delivery obligations. Maintain Customer Relationships. Sustain appropriate levels of customer contact to ensure exceptional service levels. Solicit new orders/business that complements the daily logistics plan. Communicate with Managers. Preserve proper levels of communication with construction aggregate order management group, sales manager, and operations manager. Maintain Process Efficiencies. Maintain and improve process efficiencies. Conduct quarterly quarry reviews with Vulcan stakeholders. Qualifications
Skills You'll Need: Education. High school degree or its equivalent required. College degree preferred. Experience. Experience that includes dispatching, customer relations, and construction/transportation is preferred. Communication Skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and listen carefully in an open, candid, and consistent manner. Product Knowledge. Must display knowledge of construction materials and processes, weight and measure laws and regulations, and truck and transportation requirements and regulations. Must have ability to schedule and organize large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly. Technology Skills. Must display ability to use computers to record information. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications is a plus. Must be able to use common office tools and technology, such as a cell phone, office telephone, calculator, computer, and other electronic devices. Time Management Skills. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude with the ability to remain calm and focused in a high stress environment. Interpersonal Skills.
