GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for the design and implementation of IT processes. Provides support to functional areas by creating and communicating solutions to complex problems and projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Applies advanced problem solving skills and executes solutions to complex problems independently. Applies learned IT skills to work assignments.

Coaches and mentors IT tasks and skills to others. Develops and implements IT processes.

Identifies opportunities and owns improvements to technologies and IT processes. Leads, defines and completes complex IT tasks independently; may lead small projects. Manages and accountable for project completions.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Presents work output in a clear and concise manner.

Manages and designs major hardware/software solutions in support of assigned infrastructure hardware and services in the organization.

Administers infrastructure upgrades, implementations and integrations. Provides technical administrative and configuration support for one or more of the following platforms: Windows Server, Linux, Unix, Active Directory, Terminal Services, Virtual Infrastructure, Data Protection and other related technologies.

Provides technical support of Infrastructure hardware, software and firmware, including storage systems.

Provides advanced problem resolution for server and client based software.

Required 24 x 7 on-call support rotation assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant academic discipline preferred. 6 years of professional IT & IS experience.


0-2 years of prior participation on project teams.

Skills and Abilities

Expert knowledge of how current trends and technology may be used to support business partners.

Proficient understanding of and ability to identify how technology solves business problems.

Core understanding of and ability to connect the needs of multiple Herman Miller functional areas.

Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Additional Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware components and their interactions with operating systems and other network elements including data storage technologies in an x86/x64 environment.

Experience with the administration of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and Terminal Server. Experience with the administration of Virtualization Infrastructure.

Experience with the administration of Data Protection Methods and technologies. Standard schedule (M-F, 8-5) with flexibility for rotating 24x7 on-call support.

Ability to travel up to 10% or as needed to achieve business objectives.

Comprehensive knowledge of datacenter operations and host infrastructure components.

Proficiency in the administration of Red Hat Linux and Windows operating systems. MCSE or RHCA and VCP Certifications are preferred.

Experience with PERL or PowerShell script development.

A starting compensation range for this role is $88,600.00 - $111,750.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
