Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate Accounting will oversee the corporate accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Lead and manage the corporate accounting team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statement reporting packages in compliance with U.S. GAAP and other regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately, including the review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Controller on external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement and support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, to drive the company's financial objectives
  • Stay updated on accounting developments and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and best practices

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting with 9-12 years of progressive accounting experience, with 4-5 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Government contracting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficient in Costpoint and Microsoft Office Suite
  • CPA certification
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to change in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Self-starter and independently motivated
  • Organized, reliable, and personable
  • The ability to produce timely, high-quality work
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Equity, Debt, Goodwill, Intangibles, Leases under ASC 842, Intercompany, and Payroll
  • Experience with BlackLine
  • Experience with companies managed by private equity
