MRO Coordinator will be responsibleforperforming all purchasing and distribution tasks for products and services used to maintain and repair our machines. Safety, quality, productivity,andstrongwork ethic are important to the Sonoco culture.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services that are used to maintain and repair machines or building.
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing and distribution while taking into account cost-effective solutions.
  • Communicate with the vendors, foster a team atmosphere, and report on progress.
  • Assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Receive price quotes from vendors, compare quotes against requirements, and purchase orders via email.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with maintenance department to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Follow up on orders, expediting if necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts and parts room is organized.

  • Professional communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a computer and accurately enter data into spreadsheets or functional specific software. Including a proficiency in MS Excel

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in purchasing function (or equivalent), preferably food related.
