Position Purpose:

Oversee an infrastructure team responsible for the delivery and overall health of multiple technologies, platforms and/or services -- including developing and implementing standards, procedures, and processes. Develop business and technology standards and best practices. Provide overall support of existing infrastructure services. Create new infrastructure services/offerings based on business need and architectural direction. Foster strategic and tactical alignment between business objectives and I/S products and services. Ensure compliance with government and other audit requirements.

This position requires a security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship to obtain.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee infrastructure teams in the areas of work management, technical direction, resource planning, and/or standard development practices. Ensure the enterprise has the capability to support new and existing technologies and services, ensuring a high level of performance and reliability. Ensure the overall health of the department's systems, platforms, technologies and/or Services.
  • Responsible for recruiting and hiring, coaching and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, and addressing all disciplinary issues in a timely manner. Encourage staff in creating and maintaining a work environment with high morale and employee satisfaction through support of professional development, training, career growth, and rewarding high performance.
  • Consult with various staff to assess information systems' needs and requirements. Analyze problems and capabilities to develop solutions for improved procedures, alternate processing methods, communications, information flow, management reporting, and operational efficiency. Provide input and recommendations regarding business continuance issues and improvements to the operations of systems and processes supported.
  • Work closely with enterprise business leaders to ensure alignment of IT strategy with corporate business strategy. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of applicable information systems requirements, and stay abreast of advances in technology.10% Promote compliance with regulatory requirements and I/S best practices, especially with respect to information security and risk mitigation.5% Participate in and/or makes decisions regarding budget and capital equipment processes and quality improvement activities.
  • Review departmental documentation, policies and procedures for accuracy, completeness, and relevance to overall company goals.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree - Any Major.
  • Or 4 years of job related work experience
  • Or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree

Required Work Experience:

  • 7 years of job related IT experience.
  • Prior team lead, supervisor, or management experience OR equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated flexibility for adapting to both changing business and client needs, and a changing technical environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge base in related area.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent and effective communication, customer service and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information with understanding to a variety of audiences who have different levels of experience and knowledge.

We Prefer That You Have:

  • Intimate understanding of a z/OS mainframe working environment
  • Understanding of database concepts
  • IMS Database Administration and/or System Programming experience
  • DB2 for z/OS Database Administration and/or System Programming experience
