Location: The EDGE Learning Center - 1212 10th Street, Plano, TX 75074

Pay: $18 - $20 / hr

Job Summary:
The Temporary Office Manager is responsible for assisting the Office Manager with front office activities, including the reception area, mail, large purchasing requests and facilities. This position is also responsible for directing and coordinating office services and related activities, including developing and supervising programs for the maximum utilization of services and equipment. In addition, the Temporary Office Manager is responsible for arranging internal office moves and providing arrangements for office meetings.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally to maintain professional image.

  • Supervises and coordinates overall administrative activities for the training team.

  • Supervises the maintenance and alteration of office areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement and housekeeping of office facilities.

  • Negotiates the purchase of and maintains stock levels for cleaning supplies, food/beverages for training classes, learning materials, office supplies and furniture, office equipment, etc., for the entire staff in accordance with company purchasing policies and budgetary restrictions.

  • Supervises the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, etc.

  • Responsible for the facilities day-to-day operations (such as distributing building access keys and back-up to security access cards, etc.)

  • Shipping of educational materials.

  • Open facility on days when there are classes in session at the EDGE facility.

  • Drives EDGE van to take attendees to and from hotel.

  • Orders catering for lunch and dinner through approved vendors while classes are in session.

  • Prints pre-class materials as instructors need, including name tags, and helps in the setup of classrooms.

  • Works with preferred hotel vendor to block rooms and book hotels for attendees that are coming to classes from out of town.

  • Purchases airline tickets for manager training classes through approved vendor site.

  • Maintains snacks, coffee, and beverage cooler in employee dining area when classes are in session.

  • Responsible for set up and clean up of lunch and dinners that are catered into facility.

  • Cleaning of classroom, kitchen and eating area on occasions when evening cleaning crew is not scheduled.

  • Participates as needed in special department projects.

Requirements:

  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees of organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages.

  • Strong computer skills including use of MS Office programs.
