As Manager, Risk Management/Patient Relations, your scope will include:

* Manages monitoring of the Occurrence Reporting system to include follow-up on unusual events and facilitates process improvement.

* Manages and develops processes to minimize risk.

* Responsible and accountable for the risk management services.

* Provides claim management to include risk identification and reduction and claims monitoring.

* Reviews medical records for liability issues.

* Manages team of patient relation specialist and clinical risk specialist.

* Consults and participates in investigations related to risk management.

* Provides consultation to administration, medical staff, committees, and managers on issues regarding risk management.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree plus five years healthcare experience.
  • Three plus years management experience in a healthcare setting including familiarity with clinical and business practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytic capability and application of complex problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience with implementation of data management processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated use of performance improvement techniques, applied statistical concepts, and information management.


Required Certification/Registration:



  • Current California RN License.


Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:



  • 3+ years in risk management or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare quality, and accreditation survey process.
