About the HR Data Management and Governance Team

The People, Products, and Data's (PP&D) organization, within the Human Resources Line-of-Business (LoB), is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Process Manager to join our Data Management & Governance Team.

About the role:

The Data Management & Governance Team is primarily responsible for ensuring that all HR data, including External Data Shares (XDSs), stay Well-Managed and complies with the various Data Policies, Standards, and Procedures that Capital One has in place by partnering with key stakeholders, such as Risk, other HR Experiences Teams, as well as People Technology.

You will play a pivotal role in owning our External Data Share processes and Controls to ensure the appropriate monitoring is in place to mitigate any data management risk associated with our External Data Shares. In addition you will also play a key role in Global Expansion efforts and special Data Privacy projects to deliver Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), which will ensure Capital One mitigates risks in both the Data Management and External Data Shares spaces.

Some qualities which will contribute to success in this role include, but are not limited to: strong verbal and written communication skills; strong process documentation skills; customer focus as you work closely with our Performing Data Stewards, Accountable Execs and ability to coordinate large efforts across cross-functional Teams, when needed. General Responsibilities:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Data Management and Information Data Management policy requested.

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as work in the white space when needed

  • Ability to create strategy/action items as well as Road Map to track progress

  • Knowledge of External Data Shares and Coupa preferred but not required

  • Strong knowledge of Data Management with ability to identify gaps and create solutions

  • Play a role in Global Expansion efforts to ensure HR is compliant with laws and regulations in other countries.

  • Privacy Lead for Human Resources (review of newly registered data to ensure compliance with CCPA)

  • Weekly review of HR External Data Share reporting to ensure all are complete, valid and renewed as needed.

  • Should be intermediate if not expert with Catalog/Exchange for data registration

  • Partner with Performing Data Stewards, External Data Share platform, Coupa, and Supply Chain (ESM) to ensure destruction descriptions are in line with data retention as stated in registrations.

  • Partner with EDRM & Risk to define/complete any MRA or Finding/Problem remediation

  • Create new processes to manage/monitor our External Data Shares more efficiently and create metrics to show big picture status as well as identify concerns.

  • Respond to 2nd-line's Data Effective Challenges, where applicable to Data Governance

  • Create updated procedures/ Job Aids to help our Performing Data Stewards navigate through the tasks of managing their data

  • Partner with EDRM & Risk as well as various 1st and 2nd-line Oversight Teams to support joint-initiatives and projects

  • Define data processes to assist the HR DM & Gov team become better well managed and strengthen controls for our systems-of-record ( such as WorkDay, People Data Hub, and People Data Platform).

  • Craft presentations for Leadership, when needed to display monthly data management metrics.

  • Help draft and test Data Controls to mitigate process risks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office or G-Suite

  • At least 2 years of experience in Data Governance or Risk Management

  • At least 3 years of Process Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification

  • Familiarity w/ Agile Methodology and Jira

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Governance

  • 4+ years of experience in Process Management
